I love acting and being on camera. My background is a unique combination of different acting techniques, that I feel I've been fortunate enough to piece together for my own style.
Professional wrestling - I trained for a few months as a professional wrestler at The Academy School of Professional Wrestling under former WWE stars, Shawn Daivari and Ken Anderson. While my training was short, my passion for wrestling has been around for a lifetime and I got the opportunity to take what I learned from my teenage years bumping and doing stunts in the backyard, to getting to train professionally in a ring taking bumps and learning wrestling basics. On top of getting good at conditioning myself to take the bumps and falls, I used this opportunity to develop my promo skills, mic work, and character while in the ring which provided me with skills that I use to this day on camera. Getting the piss beat out of me in a ring was one of the best learning experiences I've ever had.
Improv - I studied improv in college and It was something that came natural to me and I found to be an excellent creative outlet, having learned lessons that I use in everyday life and not just acting. I trained underneath Jim Robinson who was a ten year veteran of the Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, the oldest improv theater in the country formed by the legendary Dudley Riggs ( former Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus aerialist)
Margolis Method - In college, I took theater and studied the Margolis Method, working directly with founder Kari Margolis. The Margolis Method combines the connections between the physical, intellectual, and intuitive, while merging muscular and vocal expression. It's known as a three-dimensional approach to theatre training that merges the skill sets of acting, directing and playwriting to build what is called the “Actor Warrior.” Basically, I learned a lot about movement and using the body during acting and how body language can be just as impactful on screen as anything else. It was a difficult concept to grasp at times (incredibly silly even), but combining it with what I learned in pro wrestling helped me establish my on screen presence.
My experience in pro wrestling, improv, and theatrical physical expression has morphed my current acting style and on screen persona. I'm a one dimensional actor, but that is what my brand, look, and style is - parts of my natural self that are heavily exaggerated with the volume cranked up to 11
Currently, I play the character Sin Silva on Band Brawlers. You can check it out on YouTube at the Xymyth channel https://www.youtube.com/c/XYMYTH
